" I could while away the hours, consulting with the flowers"
Can you tell me what this means and can you write a similar personal statement???
I think it means he could spend his hours talking to people. My version is:

I know it doesn't really relate too much to the sentence but I think it sound a but more modern.

I know it wouldn't fit in with song, but they did say phrase.
